PagBrasil Launches 1-Click Pix to Reduce Cart Abandonment and Improve Cashflow

The digital payments firm, PagBrasil is making it easier for retailers and e-commerce firms to offer customers more convenient Pix payments following the launch of its latest offering 1-Click Pix.

1-Click Pix will allow users to make transactions without being redirected to their bank’s app. This removes a friction point that has existed when making a Pix payment. Now, customers will be able to finalise purchases directly where they’re shopping, be it on an e-commerce website or app. The new PagBrasil feature was launched in response to the Central Bank of Brazil’s decision to launch Pix with Embedded Authentication, i.e. a no-redirect journey for Pix payments.

Ralf Germer, CEO and co-founder of PagBrasil

Commenting on the launch, Ralf Germer, co-founder and CEO, of PagBrasil:  “We must never forget that people want to shop, not go through a payment process. When the payment process is too time-consuming – there is a risk that the customer may abandon the purchase. Anyone selling online knows how frustrating this can be: in Brazil, the cart abandonment rate is over 70 per cent, according to a study by Opinion Box.

“Our solution 1-Click Pix, which enables Pix payments with embedded authentication, allows the customer to select their bank, click ‘pay’, and they will be authenticated via facial recognition, biometrics, or password. All of this happens within the online store’s environment. It’s simple and secure.”

Win for both merchant and consumer

Starting on the final day of February, merchants will be able to streamline the checkout process for consumers which will in turn boost conversion rates. This will be made possible by reducing the number of steps needed to complete a transaction while maintaining high levels of security.

This solution is integrated into PagBrasil’s Payment Link, making it more convenient for shoppers and ideal for recovering abandoned carts and boosting social media sales.

Both consumers and merchants will greatly benefit from the new service. From a consumer standpoint, convenience will be greatly improved. After all, it is no secret that they prefer retail establishments that offer a quick and easy shopping experience. From a merchant’s standpoint though, a smooth checkout experience leaves a strong first impression. This will help build a strong reputation and brand as well as improve customer loyalty for the e-commerce business.

Key points about One Click Pix:
    • Fast and convenient: The primary benefit is the quick payment process, where users can finalise a purchase without leaving the website to navigate to a separate banking app.

    • Pix integration: 1-Click Pix leverages the Pix instant payment system, which is widely used in Brazil and facilitates immediate transaction completion.

    • Secure authentication: While the process is quick, users still need to authenticate through their bank’s security measures like passwords or biometrics.

    • E-commerce application: This solution is designed to be utilised in online stores to enhance the checkout experience and potentially increase conversion rates.
