Revolut Singapore has expanded its currency offerings by adding five new currency wallets to its app.

Customers can now exchange and hold Chinese yuan (CNY), Vietnamese dong (VND), Moroccan dirham (MAD), Icelandic króna (ISK), and Serbian dinar (RSD).

This update increases the total number of currencies available for holding and exchange within the Revolut app to 39.

Revolut users can exchange these currencies within the app and hold them for future use.

They can also set stop and limit orders to automate exchanges when rates are favourable, without needing to monitor the market manually.

According to Revolut, users can spend funds in over 200 countries, with no foreign exchange fees.

The newly added currencies join other Asian options already available, such as the Thai Baht, Japanese Yen, and Indian Rupee, as well as the Indonesian Rupiah, Philippine Peso, Korean Won, and Hong Kong Dollar.

Revolut also offers features aimed at travellers, including budgeting tools, bill splitting, and fee-free ATM withdrawals of up to S$350 or five transactions monthly.

Users can freeze their cards instantly in-app and generate single-use virtual cards for added security. Cards can also be linked to Apple Pay and Google Pay for seamless contactless payments.

Ashley Thomas, Head of Strategy & Operations at Revolut Singapore said,

“Our users are at the core of everything we do. Insights from user spending patterns and their most visited destinations directly shape our currency wallet roadmap.

The addition of CNY and VND is especially timely, as we’ve observed notable fluctuations in SGD-CNY and SGD-VND rates recently.”
