As the number of fintechs in the UK surpasses 3,000, access to high-quality, growth-specific support is more important than ever. To ensure these organisations have every opportunity to reach their maximum potential, Fintech Fringe, the fast-growing fintech ecosystem in the UK, has launched its new Marketplace feature.
The new feature marks the next evolutionary step for Fintech Fringe Forum, the firm’s community platform, as it goes from beta into a platform which will give fintechs direct access to trust expertise in a variety of sectors. These include: talent, fundraising, legal, marketing and compliance.
“Despite the news that investment in fintech has taken a hard hit in recent years the UK still attracted more funding than those in France, Germany, China, India, Brazil and Canada combined last year. The writing is on the wall that the UK’s fintech scene is set to thrive once again, but for every one company that does make it, many more struggle to get beyond early traction,” said Calypso Harland, founder of Fintech Fringe.
“Our mission is to make scaling accessible to many, not just a few. Through Marketplace, we’re focussed on improving those odds with a practical solution that reduces the cost and risk of growth.”
Identifying where support is needed
Too often, founders struggle to access the right expertise at the scale-up stage, wasting time and money on the wrong advisers. Fintech Fringe has spoken with hundreds of founders facing the same challenge: a lack of targeted support at the point of growth. With speed to market a key success factor, Marketplace offers a centralised hub of practical resources and specialist connections.
It also features an AI-powered knowledge base that answers many of the common questions startups have when scaling. From fundraising strategy to regulatory requirements, the tool provides instant access to curated insights, templates and advice – helping founders move faster and make informed decisions without the noise.
If the UK wants to keep producing fintechs that compete on the world stage, it needs the right conditions for scale. Marketplace was built to close that gap – helping companies tackle operational hurdles, implement compliance frameworks and unlock expansion opportunities.
Harland added: “We are excited to help the UK maintain its global fintech edge and help create better pathways to scale – with access to capital, talent and regulatory support. Marketplace is a simple, open and powerful tool that connects fintechs with the right expertise at the right time.”
