SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, which builds and invests in ventures across and beyond the banking sector, alongside the bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) division, has appointed Lisa Pollina as Vice Chairman, Americas.

Pollina will report to Alex Manson, Chief Executive Officer of SC Ventures, and will also work closely with Mandy DeFilippo, Chief Executive Officer for the US and Americas.

Named one of the ‘Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance’ by American Banker, Pollina has held senior advisory roles in private equity and credit investment at Ares Management and Alvarez & Marsal.

She was previously Vice Chairman at RBC Capital Markets and Global Financial Institutions Group Executive at Bank of America Securities, overseeing both venture capital and private equity sponsor relationships.

Pollina currently serves on the boards of Munich Re Americas and energy firm NESR, and is a long-standing member of the Federal Reserve Bank’s Working Group on Global Markets.

She is also involved with the Atlantic Council of the United States and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

She holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and has taught corporate finance at the University of Chicago. In 2021, she was recognised for global service and leadership by being appointed a Dame of the Sovereign Military Order of St John.

In her new role, Pollina will support SC Ventures in expanding its presence in the Americas, contributing to strategic partnerships and investment initiatives.

She will also advise on the SC Ventures Portfolio Management Committee and other internal forums.

For CIB, she will help develop key relationships with corporate and institutional clients.
