Alibaba Cloud is rolling out eight new data centers across Europe, Asia and the Americas as it accelerates the global build-out of infrastructure to support next-generation AI.
The first three facilities will open in Brazil, France and the Netherlands, with additional sites planned for Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Dubai in the coming year.
New regional service hubs in Indonesia and Germany will provide round-the-clock, multi-language customer support.
The plans were unveiled at the Apsara Conference 2025 in Hangzhou, where Alibaba Cloud said it currently operates 91 availability zones across 29 regions.
The company also launched the AI Catalyst Program to support global AI firms with technical expertise, AI tools and go-to-market resources, including up to 2 billion free tokens on Model Studio, its generative AI development platform, and up to US$120,000 in cloud credits.
Alibaba Cloud said its technology underpins projects ranging from AstraZeneca China’s pharmaceutical safety tools and Shiseido’s security systems to GladCube’s AI video services, FLUX’s Japanese large language models and Turbo AI’s regional AI infrastructure.
Alibaba Cloud also announced the Sports Data Hack Challenge with the International Skating Union and Thinksport, an AI hackathon running from October to December 2025 to accelerate the adoption of AI and cloud in Europe’s sports industry.
Meanwhile, its Platform for AI has integrated NVIDIA’s Physical AI software stack, offering developers a cloud-native platform to advance humanoid robotics and Physical AI solutions.
