Jumio has announced the general availability of Jumio Liveness Premium with advanced deepfake detection, which it describes as its most advanced biometric liveness detection tool to date.
The new solution builds on the recently launched in-house Jumio Liveness and is designed to enhance protection against sophisticated identity fraud tactics, including deepfakes and injection attacks.
It uses a patented technology that combines randomised colour sequences and AI-driven analysis to confirm the presence of a real human in real time during identity verification.
Jumio said the tool extends beyond traditional presentation attacks, such as screen or paper-based copies, by identifying more complex threats like synthetic overlays and injection methods.
The solution has already been used by early-access customers, with one Latin American fintech company reporting over 30 percent more fraud attempts detected, including injection attacks and deepfakes.
The company’s multi-layered defense strategy includes liveness detection, AI-based fraud detection, anti-spoofing tools, and connected intelligence.
This system is backed by more than 300 issued patents and patent applications across nearly 100 unique patent families, allowing it to address both current and emerging identity fraud threats.

“Attackers are using tools that were once confined to research labs. AI-generated faces, synthetic overlays and injection techniques are now being deployed at scale by bad actors.
Jumio’s premium liveness with advanced deepfake detection addresses the next generation of fraud head-on and is the perfect solution for businesses seeking to proactively increase their defenses.”
said Bala Kumar, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Jumio.
