Cloud banking platform Mambu has partnered with Money DD, a subsidiary of the Government Savings Bank (GSB) of Thailand, to power the launch of the Good Money digital lending platform.

The initiative aims to expand access to loans for underserved Thai citizens, offering an alternative to high-interest informal lending.

Launched in April 2024, Good Money operates on Mambu’s cloud banking platform and utilises Google Cloud’s infrastructure, including database management and security services, to support scalability and performance.

GSB, which serves a third of Thailand’s population, introduced Good Money as part of its efforts to improve financial accessibility.

During its pilot phase, the platform processed 100,000 loans, onboarded over 10,000 clients, and managed 200 million Thai baht.

It aims to reach 500,000 borrowers and increase loan distribution over the next four years.

Good Money offers personal loans and nano-finance options, with annual interest rates starting at 19%.

The platform assesses repayment capacity and adjusts interest rates based on financial behavior, a feature designed to support responsible lending.

It is endorsed by the Bank of Thailand and is positioned to expand digital lending options in the country.

Looking ahead, Good Money plans to integrate additional technologies, including AI-driven tools for credit scoring, fraud detection, and personalised loan offers, to enhance efficiency and customer experience.

“Our partnership with Good Money (Money DD) is an important milestone in our growth journey in the Asia Pacific region and has seen some of our strongest pilot results yet.

The work the organisation is doing to ensure fair financial support for underserved citizens in Thailand resonates well with Mambu’s values and mission, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with Good Money (Money DD) in the future. ”

“Mambu’s flexible cloud-native solution, underpinned by Google Cloud’s serverless architecture, has been instrumental in realising the vision of Good Money, (Money DD) and helping us go to market with our new proposition in just a few months.

Thanks to Mambu’s ability to deliver scalable, customer-centric financial services, we’re truly setting a new standard in the development of financial tools, delivering an accessible and comprehensive digital lending experience and helping to create a more equitable financial ecosystem for Thailand’s underserved communities.”

said Sirinun Jiradilok, Managing Director of Money DD.
