MoneyHero Limited, the personal finance aggregation and comparison platform, launched ‘Project Odyssey’, a group-wide AI initiative intended to accelerate revenue growth and expand operating margins through intelligent automation and new conversational product experiences.

Concurrent with the launch, the company has begun deploying its AI-powered ‘Car Insurance SaverBot Beta’ on WhatsApp in Singapore. The new strategy follows a period of strong financial momentum, with MoneyHero’s top-line revenue growing by more than 20 per cent quarter-on-quarter from Q1 to Q2 2025.

The company, which remains on track to achieve positive adjusted EBITDA in the latter part of 2025, is now advancing from a phase of cost discipline into a new transformation phase focused on embedding AI across its core customer journeys and internal workflows.

    Conversational AI for insurance

The first new product to launch from Project Odyssey is the ‘Car Insurance SaverBot Beta’, an AI-powered conversational tool on WhatsApp. The bot is designed to reduce the friction of purchasing insurance by converting a multi-step, 10+ field form into a simple, guided conversation.

The ‘Car Insurance SaverBot Beta’ enables users to compare car insurance policies in real-time, understand key policy benefits, and proceed to purchase a selected policy via a direct link to the insurer’s website, all within the messaging app.

According to internal pilot testing, the bot has shown promising engagement metrics, with users completing the quote process in an average of under three minutes, compared to the eight to 12 minutes required by the traditional web flow. The bot is designed in accordance with Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) guidelines, includes full disclosure protocols, and routes complex cases to licensed human advisors.

“We’ve demonstrated we can grow profitably—Q2 marked our first quarterly net income,” said Rohith Murthy, chief executive officer of MoneyHero Group. “Project Odyssey applies AI pragmatically to remove customer friction and lift conversion across our higher-margin verticals. The Car Insurance SaverBot Beta converts a multi-step form into a single conversation, making it easier for our 8.6 million members to navigate complex financial decisions.”

    A group-wide AI transformation strategy

Project Odyssey spearheads MoneyHero’s strategy to embed AI at the core of its operations to enhance customer lifetime value and unlock scalable profitability. The strategy is designed to accelerate revenue growth through smarter product matching, improve margins via AI-assisted workflows, and enhance customer trust with explainable, human-in-the-loop AI systems.

Automation will be embedded into the company’s most resource-intensive workflows, including content creation, campaign operations, customer support, and product matching. MoneyHero anticipates that these AI-enhanced products will contribute meaningfully to the growth of its insurance vertical, which it expects to represent approximately 30 per cent of total revenue by the end of 2026.

The company stated its AI strategy leverages its position as a large personal finance platform in Greater Southeast Asia, with 8.6 million members and 5.3 million monthly unique users across Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

The conversational approach is seen as particularly well-suited to Southeast Asian markets, where mobile-first behaviour and messaging platform adoption are high. In the Philippines, MoneyHero’s largest market by members, messaging platforms are a primary channel for financial services engagement.

“Our AI transformation isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about meeting our users where they are,” added Murthy. “In markets like the Philippines, conversational commerce is the norm. By bringing insurance and wealth products into messaging platforms, we’re removing customer friction and making financial empowerment accessible to millions more families across Southeast Asia.”

Following the car insurance bot rollout, MoneyHero plans to extend its conversational AI capabilities to personal loans, credit cards, other general insurance products, and wealth management.
