SaaScada, the cloud-native core banking platform, is teaming up with CLOWD9, a cloud-native decentralised issuer payments processing platform, to provide end-to-end cloud technology solutions across Africa.

The strategic partnership, formalised during the London Mayor’s Fintech Trade Mission in Kenya, aims to enable financial institutions in Africa to offer services at a fraction of the cost of current providers and extend coverage to remote areas.

Recognising the need for more efficient and cost-effective banking infrastructure across Africa, SaaScada and CLOWD9 will combine the capabilities of their platforms to deliver significant cost savings for African banks.

By leveraging cloud-native infrastructure, financial institutions can reduce operational overheads associated with traditional legacy systems. The partnership will facilitate the expansion of banking services into remote and underserved regions, fostering greater financial inclusion across the continent. The agility and scalability of the joint solution mean that banks can reach new customers and markets more efficiently than ever before.

London’s Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth, Howard Dawber OBE, commented: “I’m very pleased and proud to see two of the brilliant companies on our Grow London Global trade mission signing a deal together – a huge testament to the power of these networking opportunities, and the importance of our growth agency London & Partners in supporting businesses to really thrive. The Mayor and I look forward to seeing more successes like this following our landmark Africa trip as we continue building a more prosperous London for everyone.”

The London Mayor’s Fintech Trade Mission to Africa 2025 promoted innovation, trade, and investment, supporting London-based companies expanding into African markets, while showcasing London as a leading global city for African business expansion.

    Empowering African FIs

SaaScada’s data-driven core banking platform offers fast data processing and reporting flexibility. Its Product Sequencer significantly reduces the time, cost, and complexity associated with building feature-rich financial products. Combined with real-time data and configurability, this accelerates traditional development cycles, empowering banks and fintechs to innovate rapidly and maintain a competitive edge.

CLOWD9 complements this offering with its cloud-native decentralised issuer payments processing platform. Built using cloud-native microservices technologies, the platform provides customised issuer processing solutions and owns the full technology stack, ensuring flexibility to react to changes and roll out new functionality in hours.

“SaaScada’s approach as a cloud-based core banking platform is unique through the use of its product sequencer, enabling one account to have multiple products and wallets,” explained Steve Round, president and co-founder of SaaScada. “SaaScada’s unstructured real-time data enables banks and fintechs to develop, iterate and launch first-class products at pace to deliver customer-centric products in a fraction of the time that existing core providers can deliver.”

Suresh Vaghjiani, CEO of CLOWD9, also commented: “This strategic partnership will allow CLOWD9’s customers and partners to access a compelling end-to-end solution, bringing together the very best of core banking and payments processing. We are excited to empower African financial institutions with the tools they need to innovate, reduce costs, and expand their reach, ultimately fostering greater financial inclusion across the continent.”
