YouTrip, a Singapore-based multi-currency digital wallet, has launched a new service enabling users to send money internationally.

The feature allows transfers in local currencies to more than 40 countries via bank transfers and instant payment methods like DuitNow, GCash, and UPI in select countries.

YouTrip emphasises that users will benefit from competitive foreign exchange rates and transparent fees.

The service simplifies international money transfers, enabling direct transfers to overseas bank accounts or through these fast payment options.

Real-time transfer tracking is available via the YouTrip mobile app.

The company reports that the service, which began a phased rollout in late 2024, has seen increased usage, particularly around the Chinese New Year period.

The transfer feature is now available to all Singapore users. Users can specify the exact amount recipients will receive in their local currency.

Transfers can only be made from funds topped up via PayNow or a linked bank account, with transaction limits set at S$20,000 per transaction and S$100,000 annually.

Security measures include OTP verification and PIN or biometric authentication for transactions exceeding S$1,000. Users can adjust their default transfer limit (S$1,000) within the app. A 12-hour cooling-off period applies to new recipients and newly logged-in devices.

To commemorate the launch, YouTrip is offering a cashback promotion: first-time users will receive S$5 cashback for each eligible transaction over S$300, up to a total of S$10. The promotion runs from March 3 to March 31, 2025.

YouTrip advises users to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. All SMS messages from YouTrip will be sent via the official sender ID “YouTrip” and will not contain clickable links. Users suspecting suspicious activity should contact YouTrip’s customer team at +65 6904 9334.

“YouTrip has redefined how individuals make cross-border payments since our inception. With our new overseas transfer feature, we’re excited to offer users the ability to send money to loved ones abroad with the same ease, cost-effectiveness and security they have come to expect from YouTrip.

We remain committed to continuous product innovation as we make international payments more accessible, affordable, and convenient.”
